Ron Paul is a nut job. He said President Lincoln fought an "unjust war" with the Civil war. He forgets Lincoln didn't start the Civil War.

The guy is an idiot that would just get us all killed by pulling the military out of every country we are in.

The only chance this country has is if a Republican gets elected. Billary Clinton and Obomus would get us all killed and hand this country over to Al Qaeda. Not to mention they would destroy the economy with more taxes.

The Republicans unfortunately aren't much better. I don't want McCain or Huckabee...Huckabee is a nice guy and a strong religious person which is good but he isn't a real conservative. I like Romney but I have trouble with some of his views. I think Fred Thompson did a great job at the debate last night but his age is an issue with me.

My candidate is Duncan Hunter but he doesn't have any chance at all of winning.

Well there is no shortage of opinions about who will be the best president. I certainly have my opinion, but am recognizing that a posting really won't change any minds and unnecessarily muddies the waters of the Maine forum.

A super-fast, fun quiz. Find out what political party you "belong" in.

Neat little quiz. Took it just for fun and the results said I was best suited to be a libertarian.
After our primary here in NH on Tuesday I re-registered myself as an independent. I was a registered republican.
Personally, I hate big government. I would love to start all over with a VERY limited federal gov. and leave the decisions to be made at a much more local level. My family and I will decide what's best for us.

Might not be a popular ruling, but City Data has a policy that political discussions, unless they are particularly state oriented, are not suitable subject matter for the state forums.

At this point, because the discussion has become much more general in nature, I think I'll close this thread and ask any particpants who wish to continue sharing views on the upcoming election to move over to the 2008 Election subforum in Politics.

Thanks.
