My personal belief is that there is actually plenty of tax revenue generated. The problem lies with where that money goes. NJ is one of the tax heaviest states in the union, however only a small fraction of the fedral taxes paid in the state come back. The state is left with the burden of paying for things fedral dollar could pay for ie roads infastructure etc... therefore municipalities don't get fundung from the state they could use for the school systems etc.. and then property taxes go up up up. The second biggest problem is social programs, certian political parties have their voting bases in the population that recieves the lions share of these handouts therefore they not only do little to curtail them, they expand them to expand their support base leaving the rest of us to shoulder that burden. At this point the budget is so large and revenue so short the tax burden on industry is skyrocketing. We always hear the rally cry "make the industries or the wealthy pay more" however in my opinion this is self defeating in that when we raise the tax burden on industry or the wealthy they go somewhere cheaper to buisness and jobs are lost therefore tax revenue decreases and the burden on the rest of us increases even more. The state seems be caught in a game of hot potato with each politician hoping they are not the last one holding the potato when this unsustainable cycle collapses

Perhaps my faith in mankind is too optimistic? I want to believe that if we take the time too understand simple concepts, like how our economy and monetary policy work, that we can stave off the inevitable doom and gloom. New Hampshire's results seem to indicate that a majority of American's are ignorant a**es that prefer to vote for candidates who promise to be in Iraq for "another 100 years" and candidates that promise to give everyone magically free health care. Have these candidates discusses how our country is supposed to pay for these programs? Of course not. We couldn't pay for them 5 years ago let alone now.

If the masses don't wake up, then they shall truly deserve the mess that shall come from continuing down the road of the Pro-State Dove Socialists Democrats and Pro-State Hawk Socialist Republicans (except Ron Paul).

Sorry, dramamama6685. The reason why I quoted you is because Paul should have carried the Republican vote (according to the straw polls), as well as Obama for the Dems. There has been at least one county that claimed that Paul received 0 votes, when in actuality he received 31. I honestly do not believe that the Live Free or Die state suddenly changed it's mind at the last minute in order to keep other candidates hopes alive.

No primary here. The caucus is 2 days after super Tuesday, I think.

Republicans in Maine caucus on February 2. If you don't have a town chairman, any Republicanm can request a caucus kit. It is easy to do. At the caucus you choose a chairman, chairwoman, secretary and delegates to the convention in May. Those delgates will be pledged for a specific presidential candidate or uncommitted. The actual tally of delegates will be done at the convention in May. The town caucus also chooses county committee members. Each town can have at least a committeeman, committeewoman and one delegate at large. Additional county committee members depend on your town's population and the number of registered Republicans.

Get involved. It is about more than primary popularity contests; It is about human rights, taxes and being able to keep your homes and jobs.

Ron Paul is the only chance for the USA to recover from the damage done over the past decade.
