[quote=K-Luv;2484697]Eh, I borrowed this from the Colorado forum. Thought that it would be interesting here as well...

1) Current City and State = Canton, GA

2) Why do you want to leave = Because sometime in my life, I want to live in a place that's beautiful. I want scenery, snow, and seasons.

3) Where In Maine and Why = In my zillion hours on realtor.com, I have found my dream home(s) in Rockport, Searsport, and Deer Isle.

4) 2nd and 3rd Place States =thought Vermont would be 2nd, but the taxes are unbelievable.

5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = My parents are getting on in years and I really can't leave them now.

6) Anything else you want to tell us? Just that I really enjoy reading this forum and I have for a couple of months. The pictures are spectacular, and I want to tug on Forest Beekeeper's beard.

That is where I live now, in the Estates, I have for about the past 15 years. It has grown soooooooo much here. The estates are overflowing with people now, it is crazy. I met another person on here that lives in Naples now too and is heading to Maine about the same time I am. It is a small world huh?

Anyone interested in 10 wooded acres in kennebec for $20,000? 4 of the 10 acres are good for building a house and the other 6 acres are wetland. Still, that's 4 acres for $20,000 and in spitting range of the coast. Shoot me a PM and I can hook you up with the seller (not me and not related to me). I keep my ear to the ground on properties in Maine. It's tempting, but too close to the water for my taste.

Oops, was I supposed to answer questions? Let's see...
1 - Doesn't matter, it's not gonna last
2 - Not enough winter, not enough snow, not enough property, not as wonderful as Maine.
3 - Penobscot County toward Aroostook. Because that's where I bought my piece of Maine.
4 - Further inland in Maine or NB, Canada
5 - Having trouble getting bids to build on my piece of Maine
6 - The hummingbirds need me, the bluest skies in the country are calling out to me and I have only just begun to fight the black flies! I will conquer them! It's my destiny.
7 - The apples rotted on the ground last year. They won't rot in 2008. Well, they will, but with added sugar and fermentation in a whole heap of barrels and buckets. Oops, too many answers and not enough questions. Oh well. It's a woman thing.

That's a little steep. I'm looking at 40 acres in Hancock for $30k.

Maybe they should change the name of Kansas City, MO to Toad Lick:

KC Man Accused Of Toad Licking - Kansas City News Story - KMBC Kansas City

(Fact: Unless the MAO system in the digestive tract is inhibited first, oral ingestion of the tryptamine from Bufo Alvarius will not produce the desired psychogenic effect. The alleged "experts" mentioned in the article are wrong, licking toads can make you sick or dead but not high.)

When I was in my 20's, I dated a guy who owned a reptile store. Weird, I know. (Him, not me!) Among other strange critters, this guy sold those hallucinogenic toads for quite a lot of money. I seem to recall they were about $40 each. I always wondered what happened to those poor little toads after they were used for their intended purpose. I also wondered if the little stoner dudes buying them waited until they got home, or ran out to their cars to catch their buzz right away. It's kind of funny that they probably got sick, because who could they complain to about it? "DUDE - THAT GUY SOLD ME SOME BAD TOAD"
