I know this takes some real specific attention to details, but I'm sure you're up to the challenge! This is one area the cost calculators, though flawed as they are, tell me we will pay approximately 20% more for in Maine compared to Houston. So, let's break some of it down. I'm going to list some specific items I seem to buy a couple of times a week. Please give us some comparisons on any of the items you can. Feel free to add to the list as we go along.

**I am expecting to be able to buy most of our produce from the farmer's markets up there. They aren't very abundant here, so the closest one is over an hour away. They are cheaper, though the produce there is pretty sad looking.

As a wanna-be, my thought on this is "depends on who you are talking to and who you are talking about!"

elcarim - Oh, sorry - I shop always at Kroger's, always on Tuesday when I can get the Senior Citizens discount off my total and I always get gas at Kroger's using the Kroger credit card. You get 15 cents off the going price using the card. That's all we use it for but it does save us about 5 - 6 dollars a month on gas.
