Oh Dramamamma I misread, I am sorry! I used to try out all the time for parts, never major roles....but I do love Theatre. I have really gotten away from it....but some years ago...it was a major interest of mine. Once again, I am sorry, for misunderstanding and offering misplaced congratulations. Hope springs eternal.

Thanks. It does seem to get old.. when the theatre closest (5 mins. away) is the one I want and can't get (unless it's a chorus role). Of course, in this one, no chorus roles.

Wow! I haven't done theatre since college, but it sure brings back wonderful memories, talking about it!! My favorite ever was Showboat, done my Sophomore year. I know some people won't consider that true theatre, but we had SO much fun with that one. Fiddler was another great one, though much more serious for all of us. We had times of laughter and times of tears. Very memorable!

That would be so much fun to do, and I really never thought about being active again as an adult, because I've been too busy raising kids.

You know, I may have to pursue that in the future. Wonder if I can still sing?

So, what genre do you prefer?

Lalalalala!!!

Reading this made me wonder if age has improved my singing any. I think I will burst forth in song to see....

Well according to the boys, after they got over the shock of Dad starting to sing Oklahoma at full volume, I still stink. I think the oldest's exact phrase was "Dad you suck as a singer!" the youngest had a look like he just stepped in a gift from the dog, and the other two were covering their ears and running from the room yelling "Stop trying to sing!!!"

Oh well, at least I'm handsome.... At least that is what I tell the DW all the time (I think she is starting to believe me a little.)

Did you spread your arms wide open and dance around the room? At one point, I think you're also supposed to hop up on top of a bale of hay. Don't forget that move!

Yep, I can see it now!

I did do the arms flung wide open, but left the dancing out because I already know I am as coordinated as a water buffalo on roller skates and didn't want to break anything. Never made it to the hay part, they were howling in protest just a couple words into the lovely rendition of a classic song (which is probably ruined forever for them now. )
