The beatings were terrible and none of us will ever forget them. He even set "booby traps" with knives stuck in doorways trying to injure my mother when she came in the house. He was a sicko.
When he died( I was 15) he haunted the house for a while. He was into plants and books and in the middle of the night plants would fly across the room without anyone in the room. The washing machine located in the kitchen would turn on all by itself. Books he had collected would fly down stairways with no one upstairs. A whole three section book shelf that had been hanging on the wall for years suddenly let go one night when everyone was in bed. The books had been violently tossed all the way across the room not just falling straight down as you would expect from a shelf falling off a wall. I remember my mother screaming in tears at "his ghost" to leave us alone and a few days later he did. It sure was creepy for a while though!
I bet! I am glad that she (likely in desperation... but ... it worked!) did that. Often that is all it takes, as I said... recognizing them and asking (or in this case, very appropriately TELLING them) something. I am sorry you all had to deal with him when he was alive and VERY glad that you were able to get him gone, once he was. Blessings to you all.

It seems that Tim Hortons took over all of the Wendy's in our neck of the woods!

And I got to introduce K to Tim Horton's today. I had a desire for some of their pastries and a cuppa coffee this morning, as it was an "errands in Bangor" day. He was happy with his breakfast sandwich and drink (he is not a coffee drinker) and we looked at the luncheon menus with the idea of putting them on the list for a later date.

I still have not been to "The Coffee Cup" near downtown Bangor that someone on this forum mentioned in the restaurant thread, but they are on my list too...

Actually as much as I hate to admit it. One of my favorite quotes from a movie would be:

"My names Mater, like Ta-mater, but with out the Ta!" Cars (no idea the year)

Something about that line struck me as funny and still gets a big dumb grin out of me. Haven't seen a regular movie for years, they have all been kids movies.
