I am, as of 5:00 today, among the ranks of the unemployed.

The Realtor I was working for is closing his business and therefore laid me off. I will visit the unemployment office tomorrow and get a claim started and then start putting stuff in boxes in earnest.

I am going to hold off telling my local to NC clients that I am moving my design business but will likely be giving the landord notice with the Feb. rent. Theoretically I could be in ME shortly after the first weekend of Feb... earlier if I someone says "you have a job but I need you here by... " or no deal... but I want to get out to KS and help spell K on his drive back to NC and he is committed to the house/pet sitting gig through that first Feb weekend.

So now I begin job hunt -- remotely -- with no worries and an offer of excellent references from my previous boss, and need to find housing too... within commute distance of Bangor, a couple of acres or more with something on it that can be at least "camped out in"... water and ceptic in... on a road where we can get power and 'net... We'll have SOMETHING to put down, income from disability and whatever job I get, but would likely have trouble getting a standard mortgage (unless someone knows more than I do about that sort of thing... with his bankruptcy and my ex- having messed up my credit.. heck I don't even come UP in most searches!) would prefer owner carry.. and would prefer not to try to find some place to rent for a month or two with 5 cats a dog and birds... LOL

But job or none, house or none, we're coming. SOON

Sometimes, I think we are PUT in a position of having to move when it's time. When things become uncomfortable where we are, what else is there to do but MOVE!

Good for you! I'm excited that you're about to start your adventure!! See you soon!

We hope that your move goes smoothly.

Your job application is in, and Bonnie has handed a letter about you to her boss. We will have to wait and see now.

Hopefully a job will be ready for you here soon.
