Default Restaurants Downeast

The New Friendly is closing for most of the month of February. The White House Rest. is closed for some reason. Anyone know why?

At least I noticed that The Crossroads Restaurant is open again.

I noticed the White House was closed a couple of weeks ago and wondered. Have you tried Julianna's in Calais? It's Mexican. I haven't been in yet.

Helen's in Machias gets mixed reviews. I have never ever been disappointed there.

I'll second Helen's, I've never had a bad meal there.

The New Friendly's is closing for Feb? Hadn't heard that but it is good to see the Crossroads open again. I'm thinking the Happy Crab and the WACO diner will be open in February.

I don't really care for mexican food. If the taco spice was to be left out, I would love all the rest of the ingredients.

I know that Helens was GREAT back in the 70's when it was in the center of town... by the recruiting station. I've heard mixed reviews about the spot by the causeway.

I might like to try the deli. I'm usually only in Machais to pass through.

Renovations for the New Friendly. I was upset at first, then it dawned on me that I probably wouldn't be able to get down that way much in Feb. anyway.
