Thomaston Prison Gifts
I looked quizically at the title before hitting send. LOL
I have the wood works from a Thomaston Prison gift shop handed down to me from my mom. A cribbage board and a nice jewelry box. Does that gift store still operate? Do they have an online ordering page? Those items were so well made and gorgeous.

The Prison Store was open in August when we were at the Lobster Festival. Still in the same place and still some really nice wood products.

Yes, the prison woodwork store still operates. I posted a link some time ago...ah, here it is...
MDOC Industries: Maine State Prison
They say they don't sell over the 'net, but on another page they mention other shipping options since they can't ship across state lines so it's a little ambiguous...there's a phone number here:

OMG, blast from the past. I brought my mom a carved ship's wheel and jewelry box from there many moons ago.

Ok, so do I need to get my husband arrested to learn such great woodworking skills?

"I brought my mom a carved ship's wheel and jewelry box from there many moons ago."
I'm so sorry, but when I quickly read this sentence I read bought as 'thought'.

Brought instead of bought? Carved them yourself, did you?
LOL, just kidding.

I bought my really nice 29 shaped cribbage board there over 25 years ago, she's still pretty today! I've won many a dollah on her too, double on a skunk!
