Back around the dawn of time when I first moved to Maine as a permanent resident, I watched the eleven o'clock news on WABI-TV. It was the only tv station that I could get on my old black and white tv with rabbit ears.
Anyway, the young weather guy's name was Chris Ewing.
I don't remember the young woman who was the night news anchor, but the entire operation was pretty loose late at night, and Chris seemed to make it a point to clown around with the news anchor. He was very clever, and had NO trouble totally disassembling the composure of the news woman. It was all very funny, and I watched it religiously not so much for the weather report, but just for the entertainment factor.
Then one day, the young woman announced that she was leaving and going to a news station in Olympia, Washington, or someplace like that, a long way away.
I still like to watch Chris Ewing, but the "good old days" of "fun" TV are long gone in favor of market research and hype about which station is better than the other.

Hi msina, I remember Steve McKay from when he used to occassionally do the WCSH weather report, I liked him so much better than the regular morning and evening guys at that station.

LIving in WTVL, we got the Portland stations. My favorite was Kevin Mannix. I always thought the CBS affiliate out of Bangor was so low-budget and their on-air people, except for Steve McKay, seemed to reflect that. I do like Steve but we only saw him when he filled in for the Portland station.

Anyone but Kevin Mannix. That man drives me up a wall.
Steve McKay is good. Probably have to cast my vote for him. Or Joe Cupo.

I like Kevin Panics (Mannix). I like Sarah Long, also. Greg Dutra is a hottie, too.

Sounds like some new faces have joined the crowd since we moved.
Joe Cupo, forgot about him. I like him too!
