Default Maine Republican Caucus

I went to my first caucus ever today and ended up being elected a delegate to the State Convention. At least it looks like the Maine Republicans have some common sense and are going for Romney. Not to make this a political debate but to me there is no difference between McCain and Hillary and Obama.

Glad to hear that the state will go to Romney. How come the Maine Republican Caucus is not getting any national attention?

not to make this a political debate either but i was wondering if anyone can remember the "common sense" results pertaining to the collective wisdom in the maine republican primaries in 2000 and the same for the cuacuses held in 2004?

I think the reason Maine isn't getting any national attention is because the caucus results are non-binding which means that the delegates are not committed to Romney until the vote at the Convention. But this does gauge how the Republicans will vote in the state. Although I feel that everything will pretty much be over after Super Tuesday.

As for common sense in 2000 and 2004 I don't remember who won the primary/caucuses in 2000 and 2004 but if it was President Bush it was common sense to vote for him since it was the best choice given the options that were put before us at the time. I don't care what any liberals say, President Bush has been a good President. I don't like everything he has done. I don't agree with him at all with amnesty for illegal aliens and giving oil companies our tax money to screw us but what's the Democrats answer? Raising the gas tax and leaving the borders wide open and giving illegals amnesty.

This article says Ron Paul has a better chance:

Ron Paul has a shot at winning Maine caucuses - Ron Paul - MSNBC.com

I've never tried a link before. Here's to hoping this works!

It's already been announced on the news. Romney has 54% of the vote. Paul and McCain are in a struggle for 2nd and 3rd. The last I saw McCain was 3% ahead of Paul and neither of them were even close to Romney.

WCSH6.com - Romney Wins Republican Caucus In Maine (broken link)

CAPE ELIZABETH (NEWS CENTER) -- The former Massachusetts governor has a little more than half of the vote with about two-thirds of the towns holding caucuses reporting.

John McCain worked to keep his vote above 20 percent, followed by Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee.

I certainly hope so. Everyone is beating the drum about "change", and it certainly would be nice to have a President who can speak legibly, and who actually can think coherantly.

Ron Paul proposes serious change, while the rest of the candidates wouldn't recognize the need to change a soiled diaper.

Actually Mitt Romney is your man. He is the only one that knows how to successfully run a business. He took the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics from a financial disaster to a profit and he actually cut taxes and went from a huge debt to several billions in surplus while Governor of Mass. All while Mass had and still has a legislature controled by tax and spend liberals.

To me that sounds like someone we need as President. Ron Paul is a nut job. He said Lincoln was wrong for starting the civil war and his nut job supporter said that she is concerned that the world community is about to ban vitamins and Ron Paul will fight so we can keep our vitamins. I almost spit my water out when this lunatic woman said this.

When I look for someone who can speak well and say what he means I look at Mitt Romney. When I look for someone who has experience to get the economy back on track I look at Mitt Romney's expereince. When I look for someone who can cut taxes and let the people who work keep their money I look for Mitt Romney. Anyone else just isn't worth a vote.

Mitt Romney is a boob who will spew anything out of his mouth to get a vote. So far he has told each place he has campaigned in what they wanted to hear, no matter if it has made sense economically or otherwise.
