Default "Lament" - Cool Eastport Video

I came across a cool artsy wintertime video of Eastport on youtube.com called "Lament". I can't figure out how to post a link to it, but maybe one of you savy CD'ers out there can post one (and maybe tell me how to post a link too, thanks!). It's really worth a look.

Could anyone get it to play correctly? I gave up after about 10 minutes of it starting and stopping

Bydand's link worked fine for me.
What a beautiful, haunting piano score!
Now what is being lamented though? The weather, the season, or the faded glory of the town? Perhaps we will never know

Very provocative and compelling. It is amazing how much emotion and mystery is evoked by such a themeless and plotless film shot in black and white and without comment; it evoked sadness and slowed down the chatter of my mind....and created its own slow meloncholy mood. The music was perfect to partner with the film. I really liked it--it could just as easily been some of the little mining towns in West Virginia, Kentucky or Tennessee---I don't know what it was saying exactly but it said it with dignity and heartfelt pathos. I believe that this was another day when Messeur Godot didnt keep his appointment.

The deserted streets and the one guy with a push cart. This was filmed in 1989 and the director must have foreseen the future. Bruce Springsteen has an excellent CD that was put out around 12 years ago. The lead song was "Youngstown". It is haunting and people don't like to face the future, but 'The Boss' understood. I believe he did sing 'Born in the USA' on that album also, but in that context it is a haunting lament for what used to be. Other songs are;
The Ghost of Tom Joad
Straight Timw
Highway 28
Youngstown
Sinaloa Cowboys
The Line
Balboa Park
Dry Lightning
The New Timer
Across the Border
Galveston Bay
My Best was Never Good Enough

Now before this thread gets slammed shut, this album should ring hard and true for anybody in a mill town in Washington County or anywhere else in Northern Maine. It is one of my all time favorite albums.

The Ghost of Tom Joad: brucespringsteen.net: Bruce Springsteen

Just listen to 'Youngstown'. You'll understand.

That was a cool video.
I liked the music that went along with it. Black and white was awesome.
Kuddo's to the filmmaker!
