Boon, I don't know what year your Ram is, but if you don't have *at least* the heavy duty transmission cooler, and it's an older model, the 28 footer may be really hard on it...and if you have the electronic overdrive, turn it off.

I have a '94 Ram 1500 with a 5th wheel that I use for a 25' trailer, and a ball hitch for car trailers. It's set up with the trans cooler and air bag spring helpers in the back. (I've put over a ton in the bed, sometimes way over.)

thanks Zymer, my truck is 2001, it is rating to pull 7000 lbs, the Airstream is 1980 Excella dry weight is 4200 lbs. I bough from the guy in Kentucky and pay some one to tow it to Virginia. He has Dodge 1500 with heavy duty towing package. I though may by i can try to tow it to Maine on my own with help from my neighbor. It will be my first time towing trailer, and will be great if i can use my truck to do it. let me look in to " transmission cooler". I am not a car guy, my neighbor has to point out that i should take it of overdrive when driving up/down the mountain, it drive much easier when i do that. well i been drive on the flat land in south florida for 30 plus years just put it on D and go.

WOO HOO! I am glad you are this close and ready to being the final insanity! LOL Hope your buying goes quickly and easily! We are still in the "no ink on paper" nervous stages of that... so your good thoughts are appreciated... thank you and be well.

I want to thank everone for their supportive posts.

As the selling process progressed, I began to feel more and more inward and afraid of jinxing things by talking about it; (still worry a little about that) but my life is about to change, and the planning and dreaming is all coming together, and ....I am part of this community that I know understands...it seems "ok" to share it.

I have a belief about things happening when they are "supposed to be"; I believe the universe has a plan and purpose for each of us, and for everything there is a time...and this seems to be the Time to Move to Maine.

I "take my place on the great mandala as it moves through the great circle of time"

I am in total agreement with everything happens for a reason and in it's season. I am so happy for you. You are a wonderful man and so deserving of having your dreams coming true. Hope to see you in Maine even if we don't realize we are seeing each other. I will have a better idea that it is you if I see "SANTA" up that way. Good Luck and God Bless!!

Good luck, Elston. I can tell you from recent experience that the actualities can sometimes be very different from the listings. We had literally *hundreds* of listings that we thought were promising, out of those less than 2 dozen merited more than a drive-by, and most of those were eliminated for various reasons after closer looks.

Of course, we had some very particular ideas about what we wanted. Someone who is less "picky" would have an easier time finding something suitable.

LOL Thnks abby, I like the way you put that! As you know I am not thinking to mix my cyber-forum life with my daily life in real time. But if you see santa paired up with a very handsome Japanese man...especially anywhere near a tennis court...how many of us can there be????
