My hubby and I are moving to Yarmouth Me next spring. Can anyone tell me about the area and what to expect? I'm a paralegal and my hubby is an IT. Will we be able to find work there?

Quality of life? Crime? Is there train service or bus service to Portland? What's the scoop on Yarmouth Point Apts/townhomes...have there been any complaints?

Also - is Portland a pet-friendly city? We have two cats and one dog that we consider to be "our kids" - so this is very important to us.

After much planning the time is getting closer. Two weeks from today we leave Germany after 10 years and moving back to my home state. Our house that we had built is done, the household is on its way from Boston to Brewer to the movers and my car is in Boston just waiting for us to land at Logan and drive up. Hot here in Germany the last couple of days and the temporary apartment we have been in since 13 May is feeling smaller and smaller. We are ready and can't wait to be back. No jobs yet but we have saved enough to go a few months while looking for work. Thanks to everyone on this board as over the last couple of years your input and advice have been great. Been a good experience building even from this far away.

The anticipation must be gnawing at you! Best of luck to you and your family. Where will you settle...in Brewer?

No we built in Hampden. Not snobs LOL but have blue collar friends living there and figured the size of the school would be an easy transition for our daughter versus a larger school based on what she is used to.
