..there are real estate deals out there!
I already know people wheeling and dealing. In Dover-Foxcroft, one fellow bought a house with 11 acres for around $50k from the bank. Bank had over a hundred in it. He just closed and the new for sale sign went up today!
There is a listing in Dover for a house with 5 acres for under $50k. There are deals around. Not like the old bubbles with the waterfrontage though. Greater Dover and surrounding towns seem to have a lot of stock right now.
I refuse to believe all the doom and gloom out there. I expect a good sales season with the tourists to!

Was that one sold at auction recently? With "eau de skunk" at the kitchen door?? If so I was at that auction.
Unfortunately we can't go that high without owner financing. We can get a loan for 75% but only have 8k to put down ... and only on stick built at that. which limits the options.
We are looking also at affordable bare land and a hard row to hoe from there... but it would beat this trailer park all hollow. I don't cotton to living in a sea of gravel, barking chained up dogs and audible domestic disputes not to mention paying for the privilege! LOL but it was a place to land in the winter and now it is time to move on. SOON I hope.

Best Wishes and Good Luck to you Starwalker. There is so much change in the credit market and crazy changing housing prices, I'm sure there is one, a special opportunity for you. I hope you have some good friends and knowledgeable sources to find it. It's there!

Our update for the day was a note from our agent saying the lookers we had this week just made an offer on a trailer house that was half the price of ours, which told all we need to know! I wish they'd do more pre-qualifying before wasting our time and energy!
(No, ours is not a trailer - maybe we should wish it were!)

Good grief El, why were they even looking at your place? Just nosy? Wishful thinking?? You can insist, I think, that your agent only bring qualified buyers to your home.
