Looks like I have to start saying, "see you in '09"

I so feel for you, BacktoNE! We thought/hoped we were moving this year, but now our move has been postponed until next year too. I know the wait will be well worth it, but it is SO hard to put off our plans another year.
Good things come to those who wait, right?!? Hang in there! It'll make your move back home all the sweeter!

Oh, El, I do hope that a buyer will find your home soon! I recall that frustration of hoping for the phone to ring all too well.
I post infrequently because I am shy by nature, but I have been reading this forum for about a year now. We moved to Bangor in October, and it has truly been the blessing my life needed.
I have prayed for you when I read of your illness a few months ago, and will continue to pray for you now. Just keep your heart and your eyes fixed on your goal. You can move a mountian if you have even the faith of a mustard seed!

S, thank you so much for the sentiments and the prayers! I'm fixed on the prize, for sure, but some days are easier than others.
It means a lot to me that you remember my hospital episode and your well wishes are greatly appreciated. I'm actually currently trying to decide if I need a visit back to the surgeon to have my arm checked. I still have times of discoloration and sporadic pains, and I can't decide if it's a problem or if it's that pesky "25% chance of permanent, minor disability" he expected. I just don't know what would be "normal" in this situation, so I guess I'd better go get it checked out. I hate going to the doctor!
I'm glad you're loving Bangor. I'd be happy for Anywhere, ME at this point!

You know, I just saw that 25 properties have sold in our zip code over the last 90 days. Ours has only shown 4 times in that same period. Does anyone see a problem with that picture?

Your house is just waiting to call out to the perfect person so they make a full-price offer and you can get out of there, and go home to Maine. Hope that person is coming quickly for you!

Yup, I see a problem. Sounds like it's time to switch to a more aggressive agent.
Just a thought, but have you listed your house on CraigsList at all? I know a couple of people who've had excellent results doing that. Their agent still gets the commission but it is one more advertising tool you can use.

we're in the early stages. dh has two yrs left of training...but hopes to have a contract in about 1yr.
we still are not positive on the location we desire. altho, we have looked at the ellsworth and sacco/biddeford areas. we also wouldn't mind living more rural.
we are constantly looking at real estate...at this stage it is about the only thing that keeps us going.
another thing that may keep us from going too rural is the fact that we would like a jewish community to be near. we aren't super religious, but would like our children to have access to synagogues.
two yrs, two yrs, two yrs!!!!! say it with me.
