sugarmama, the Bangor area has a good size Jewish community. When we lived in Bangor we lived in a large Jewish neighborhood--only two of us with Christmas lights up! It probably wouldn't be much of a stretch to live rurally in one of the towns between Bangor and Ellsworth.

Good things come to those who wait, right?!? Hang in there! It'll make your move back home all the sweeter!

Thanks lovemaine, I'm sorry to hear that you won't make it back this year either. It will be worth it, but as you said, sooooo hard to wait. I can't believe it will be another summer without the ocean

And I can't believe it will be another summer with oppressive heat and humidity for us!

I know the feeling! We've already begun our hot summmer. We've been up to 88 already and 90 is coming up within days. It's disgusting!
I just have to believe we'll be out of here soon!

Don't fret it's supposed to be chilly all week. We're going back into a more normal spring pattern. We'll have lots more frost, cold rains, wind and maybe even some more snow before Memorial Day. The last two weeks have been a teaser only I'm afraid! Hope you didn't plant anything but frost resistant plants yet!

My status... laundry and packing for my first trip home this year. Flying in on Friday with the little foo-foo dog in tow. I'm anxious to get there in spite of any lousy weather predictions. I'll be in Portland for the first couple nights with my parents/3 sibs/ nieces & nephews. I plan on doing nothing but hugging them all for at least the first few hours. I've even gone as far as to threaten to bed hop and surprise spoon all of them all night long. This thought may have frightened them at first, but I'm sure they'll adjust. (or lock their bedroom doors)
This trip is only for 5 days, then I'll come back here for about a month. I'll be back up there for most of the summer, somewhere between Portland, Brunswick and IAH.
Now in which closet did I pack away my Maine clothes? I have to find my jeans and fleece!

I know, but we have a daughter who is a freshman in college and a paid for house... she is also in a serious relationship that will most likely lead to marriage, but not for at least 4 years. Basically, we have to recover from college and wedding costs, then we'll be up.
