What it's like...currently it is 24.8*F in my little creek valley not far from Winterport, and a gentleman on the radio just told me that there is some snow just to the East in Bangor.

Job situation- depends on what you do...or what you are willing to do. If you're in health care there are plenty of opportunities for nurses, etc. I'm a computer techie currently working at a freight company unloading trucks, sorting and palletizing packages and loading them on other trucks for shipment to Post Offices throughout the state.

We just figured out that our cell phones have a "D-Day Countdown" function. Hate that "D-Day" has become such a lightly used phrase.....anyway.....99 days and counting!!!

Brad told Greg today (his EMS chief) that his last day will be end of February, so they can start looking for his replacement. His position isn't filled overnight, so he wanted to give him plenty of time.

They've known since the house went on the market last year that the move was intended, but he still had all the typical questions. First, of course, was what the hell attracted us to Maine, and then don't we know it snows half the year there??? And then he shared his obligatory sentiments so we'd know what a huge mistake we're making.

He said he expects a steak dinner when we come crawling back to Texas.
