Well, ya, it does kinda suck. Thank goodness you know this now instead of six months after the moving truck is unloaded. While this is sad news, it must be a little exciting to think about a new adventure while looking for home. You'll find it!

Maybe you just belong in a different area of Maine than where home was before? Or maybe the loss of your brother and the crazy stress of coming and going so close to Christmas played into it?

Whichever way it goes for you, it's always good to have a little adventure in your soul!

I think the stress did have a lot to do with it. Once we got there and heard about the approaching blizzard, that pretty much became the focus of our visit. We were very concerned about our ability to get back out here to WI between storms. Definitely took the fun out of the trip.

We had already decided that if we were able to return, it would not be to the WTVL area. We would aim, most likely, for the Bangor area. All depends on if DH can get a transfer with his current company or not.

Either way, we will figure something out. We always do.

Woohoo!! Two steps closer......we got a house AND a job for Brad!! The employer said to "get your license transfered and get here as soon as you can and we'll put you to work immediately." I just hope they give him a few minutes to unpack. We'll be living about 10 minutes from the job and the elementary school, just outside of Calais off of River Road.

The house (it's a fabulous house!) just appeared in the paper day before yesterday. It took all of 24 hours for me to call and chat with the owners, Molly & hubby to visit and get pics for us, and we just sealed the deal with a phone call and an email. How cool!! The real kicker....it's bigger than our current house and the monthly rental rate is right at HALF what we're paying now! Plus, water & sewer is included, since it's on a well. We'll pay electric, propane & oil. And after getting the scoop from the current renters, those monthly expenses should be a bit less than our utilities are here. Can't beat that. The timing is absolutely perfect. They are moving out Feb 1st, and the owner is going to take the month of Feb to get it cleaned well and touch up paint, and we'll be moving in around Mar 6th.

You guys can see the pics here: Tammy's house? pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots

Congratulations, Elcarim! What a great way for the new year to begin for your family--lovely home and a job! Living so close to the job and schools is very helpful. Calais is a beautiful area.

Wish you a safe and speedy move home to Maine!

I dunno, El. A job in Maine? A beautiful house in rural Maine, particularly Washington county? Are you sure this is real? I'm thrilled for you! You've done your homework well. So...are you here yet???

I am sooooo jealous! On the water, 2 (2!) bathrooms with tubs, a fireplace - and 10 minutes from work- way to go! Things are really falling into place for you!
