If you could handle such a lousy trip here in bad weather and still feel like you have to be here, you have to be here.

Good for you. Don't let the weather wear you down or make you change your mind. Keep looking and working on it. It's worth it.

Yup. It took us a week or more, after we got back to WI, of really thinking about it and talking over why we felt the way we did. Realizing that we were missing my brother horribly, combined with only having 1 good weather day the entire time (limiting our travels) and it's no wonder we didn't feel like we had been home at all.

So now we have a plan in place to finish the remodel on our house in WI, get it on the market hopefully the first week in April, and then start working on either the transfer or Plan B so that we have income when we move.

Thank you, drama! When we were traveling during the holidays, I told hubby that things would go into overdrive when we got home, and they have. We're anticipating being in Calais by March 1. That means we have to pull out of Texas by mid February if we want any time to settle in once we get up there. Which means we have to make our house hunting trip NOW. I've spent the past two days since we got home on the phone. We will probably be seeing those of you who live around Calais the last week of the month. Very much looking forward to it!

How funny is it going to sound when BP starts saying, "Welcome to Maine Ya'll!"

Casper, is there anything we can do to be helpful?

Woohoo!! Our arrival date is also March 1. We'll all have to get together and compare trip notes that week. We'll let Molly, Robin & Peachie show us around the area.
