The boards are for dreamers, too, Ode.
As for moving trucks (everybody get ready to scream at me) the company pays for our move. The relocators call us to arrange the truck, a realtor to sell our house, a realtor ot help find a new house, they even come in and pack everything and load it on the truck. We spent last week in Maine looking for a house and enjoying the snow. Found a great house that we just might buy.

What do you think, troops?

Some people said, "Sorry you had to see us at our worst." If this is Maine's worst, I can't wait to see it at its best. I know we'll get sick of the snow. But I can deal with frigid temps and snow easier than I can the heat and dust and rocks and rattlesnakes down here. Did you know that there are no poisonous snakes in Maine? I can go wandering the woods without having to worry about stepping on a snake!

Maine has a 'worst'?
hmm.
I have only been here since 2005.
Were experienced a 'flood', it was okay. I learned that 'flooding' has an entirely different meaning and context to a Mainer than it had to me as a submariner.
Otherwise, I guess that the 'Worse' side of Maine has been hiding form me.

Casper - That's a lovely home. And what a great screen porch! You'll be all set with that 2 car garage AND a couple outbuildings. What will you use the outbuilding's for -- guests? office? studio? I LIKE it!!

Hey, Cas, are you on the river side or the opposite side of River Rd?

We're on the opposite side of the highway from the river. Have you been when there's snow? It's amazing how they manage to keep the roads passable.
Don't get any ideas, Bound. We hope to buy the house once we get ours sold and get settled in. But we'll be inviting people over. Of the outbuildings, one is a potting shed with a small greenhouse. I can get my seedlings started. The other one, with a bay door, has a small tractor and other equipment inside. The owner says if we buy the place, I can have the lawn care equipment. Unless the realtor tells him not to. I can understand the owner going through the realtor to rent, but we couldn't get the guy to shut up and tell us what we needed to know about renting, and he had the owner renege on a promise he made me. The house has a hard wired generator, the garage is insulated and the roof is metal. The place is just out of town, but it seems isolated. Hope the owner will let us fence in an area for our dogs. My only real worry is that the highway is so close and my pup tends to be hard headed.

Yes, we were there in March 07. There was still snow everywhere, and it was starting to get very muddy in places. They said if we thought that was beautiful, we'd love it there in the summer! You can go down and see our house if you're still in the area. You go east on River Rd and turn left on Bayview Lane. Ours is the 2nd house in the bend of that lane, right on the river.

Casper, that's a great house! Love the screened porch. I'd love to see the inside (hinting for pictures) .
Heck, winter isn't Maine's "worst", black fly season is the worst! Even that is managable, and certainly worth it to be home.

Now you know what the screened in porch is for. But I'm told that it's not as bad if you're near the river. We can't see it, but it's only about 100 yards or so away. For pics, go to Assist2Sell. Don't know the MLS#, but the house is on River Road.
