FYI--If you're federal, and they tell you that the moving company will pack for you, brace yourself. The unpacking is five times worse than having to pack it all up yourself. They mark the boxes wrong, they pack things you left out to take with you, they put so much paper around EVERYTHING (who ever heard of wrapping a bottle of tea up in a five sheets of paper?!?) that we're filling leaf sized trash bags and setting them aside for recycling, and you can't find a d %^&*( when you reach your new home. My jewelry was supposed to travel with me. The movers packed it before I could get to it, and it's still MIA.

THanks, drama. Hubby found it this afternoon. It's not really expensive stuff, but he gave me almost every piece I have, so they're priceless to me.
I know how the counting feels. You'll get so wrapped up in packing, last minute details, and saying goodbye to friends that the time will pass quickly. So, no procrastinating! Just make sure that anything you want to bring along with you that you might need before you can unpack is set aside.

My parents moved around a lot, one time the moving company packers packed up the kitchen garbage! She moved half way across the country and found her trash had followed her.....

We're packing up the truck tomorrow, and heading out on Wed. Wish us luck! I'll post again once we're settled in. Bye for now!
