According to their site, looks like Ellsworth & Lewiston are the closest to your AO.

I'm not there yet - am in WV and not only is there no snow or ice here, kids are out riding their bikes without coats.

Ben and Jerry's in Freeport is open all year round! Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream is really good!

Did the Friendly's on Broadway in Bangor close? It was across from the Mall where TJ Maxx & More is located, and I think, right next to McDonalds.

Houlton Dairy makes good ice cream. You know when they start making ice cream by the drop in butter production. We can get butter when the ice cream stand closes. I like Gifford's Moose Tracks.

I was given one of the gc's to Overstock from City Data the other day. I put it toward an ice cream maker! Now I'm even more impatient for fresh fruits to start.

Send it my way. Better yet, maybe I should come to Maine and complain about Maine issues while actually standing on Maine soil.

I'm shamed to admit I'm addicted to ice cream, and let me tell you....it's a rocky road.
(Sorry, couldn't help myself)

I make our ice cream, and this past summer I was in HEAVEN being able to use fresh Maine ingredients

I'd join a 12 step program, but I can't get past the 7-step sundae.
(ok, last one....I swear)

I scooped Gifford's for years, and remarkably- still love it! (The love of ice cream tends to fade a little when you have to wash it off your arms every night after work!).

Do people outside of Maine eat Grape-Nut ice cream? I always get weird comments when I say it's my favorite....
It's my favorite, too, and people look at me like I am nuts. I think Jordan's opens on March 12th (not sure but I drove by yesterday)

Hello, my name is Jeanne and I am an ice creamaholic. I LOVE IT!! I often wondered about how the ice cream places are up there when it is snowing and really cold up there.
About 8 years ago we took a trip out to Montana and went through South Dakota on the way out. (That has got to be one of the coldest places on earth). But anyway, we stopped at a DQ for a treat. We were sitting in there, snow piled all around, freezing our too too's off, but we was a eatin some ice cream. It was really good. I think I had hot fudge to warm me up.

mmmm rocky road is my fave too. I want a big bowl right now.

Ok, I know this is a Maine forum...BUT...if any of you ever get to the Cape, try hitting up a little place in Osterville called "Four Seas" ice cream...OMG their fudge is out of this world.

I need to find a place near me for my fix. I don't understand people who don't care for ice cream...they baffle me!
