Lately, whenever I need to make a major purchase like furniture or appliances, I look online to see if I can find some good stuff made here in the U.S. I don't mind if it's a little bit more expensive, because items like those are longer-term purchases, so any difference in cost will become negligible over time. I also buy New Balance tennis shoes, because they make half of them here in the U.S. I just wish they'd make some of their black ones here in the U.S. too, because that's the color I buy, but the black ones always seem to be made in China. Regardless, at least my money is going to a company that manufactures stuff here.

That said, I'm sure the Bangladeshis are making them as fast as they can. An iPad mini with protective case will fit inside the chest pocket on the left which is why I bought the mini instead of the full size iPad. You can stand near the top of a ridge on snowshoes and tip the iPad up to see the vista that could be viewed from that spot if some trees were cut.
Which app is that? My parents own some land in Greenwood on a decent sized hill and I think we'd have a lot of fun with this.

I have a chambray (sp) shirt made in the US from them in 1980, still my favorite not a thing wrong with it. Went down to Ellsworth before Christmas to the outlet store and got two chi-com pairs of snowshoes, one for me-one for the wife. I'll buy from them for the rest of my life.

The Mrs and my youngest and I all took a road trip from Maryland to PEI this past summer and stopped in Freeport for a couple of days and fell in love with it. The town was great the little B+B we stayed in was great as was LL Bean, we went in around 9 pm after a nice diner and I had promise the Mrs and my youngest a new pair of sandals(flip flops)but my wife had mention to the sales rep about a pair of slippers she got over a year ago and how they kind of fell aprt. The lady said "do you have them" which took us by surprise the wife said yes ,I went to the car got them and they took them back and exchanged them,I could not believe it.Actually drove down rt 1 to a road side stand"http://dayscrabmeatandlobster.com/" for some lobster rolls that were all so great(lol).Did go to Portland from there and was not impressed but plan a trip back to Freeport sometime in the future.

It is Google Earth Pro for the iPad. It is likely available for Windows machines also.

I was just in Freeport today. I met a friend for breakfast at Freeport Cafe and then to the Beans outlet. I got a nice shirt for hubby's b-day. There are sales galore everywhere! ...and no crazy crowds. Beautiful. Go friends, if you have the time and the budget allows. It was a lovely, sunny day too.
So, it was my first time visiting Maine Woolens. Beautiful, cozy blankets and throws there. They are made in Maine (Brunswick, I believe) and collect all wool from Maine too. I am going to research more about the company and then email ABC to see if they would consider highlighting them on their "Made in America," segment. I really wish we could bring more manufacturing here.
