Hey, where are all the Maine real estate agents who might be in a position to help get this grieving man into an affordable place in Maine?

Yes, where indeed are all of the Maine Real Estate people, who might be in a position to help me find something!

Thank You.

Have you considered other areas of Maine than where you originally thought ?

Hi Maineborzoi,

At this point in time, I'm keeping an 'open-mind' about my move.

I just like the mountains and lakes, and would still boat and ski in the Winter.

I definitely do not want to be in/near any city, and the farther out in the woods, the better!

Thanks!

Hi Maineborzoi,

(I just had to look up "Borzoi", and low and behold, it's for beautiful Russian Wolf Hounds). I did not know that!

There has been a 'fixer upper' listed on Zillow, for $69,500- in Upton ME, for the past few months.

I don't know if it is 'private' enough for me, and I definitely DON'T want to live on a main road.

I want quietness, no traffic noise, perhaps no neighbors in eyesight, or in hearing range, if you know what I mean, and I'd rather not live IN a town, but out in the woods.

I've got to have either a garage, shed/outbuilding or dare I wish big......A Barn, because I have a lot of stuff, (storage, storage) and would like some kind of a little workshop.

(I must have cable & Internet.....I couldn't live 'off grid') It does appeal to me though....

Thanks for your reply, Michelle.

I'm actually starting to believe I might actually get up there, and you made me smile just a little!

Thanks!

Irv, the good news is that there are many, many places in Maine that fit what you are looking for. Maine is largely rural. Few places have traffic. Many towns now have excellent cable and internet, even rural towns. YOUR trick will be finding the locations that are just enough "out of town" to meet your needs, while still having that internet/cable connection. There are back roads which have that, and there are back roads which do not. Some towns have received grants or gotten involved in programs which have brought high speed internet/cable to the back roads; you can easily find out if any town you are interested in has been selected for such a program by calling the town office. They will know what you are talking about. (The companies will stick signs up next to the road saying "this rural location now has high speed internet/cable thanks to the such-and-such program".....)
Good luck!

Hi Maine borzoi,

Have you had the time to look around your area of Maine, or local newspapers etc, for any listings of 'houses for rent' ?

I approached a Mortgage Lender to see if I might be approved for a small mortgage, but it didn't work out, so I'm stuck with renting for the rest of my Life.

I'm just reaching out to anyone who might provide any helpful information.

Thanks!

No one has heard anything yet, but May is coming and things will hopefully pick up.
