Lightbulb Maine Forum the most active?

I was just looking at the total threads and posts of each state. You've probably discussed this before. Maine has an average of over 22 posts per thread. By far the most. And Maine has the 13th most posts altogether. How many people in Maine? I will have to say that compared to other forums here at CD, this forum has always got something fun, interesting or knowledgeable going on. And with a polite discourse too. Not that other states aren't just the same. The numbers just caught my eye as I was reading posts in other places. Is there a reason for this? Or do Mainers and Maine bound folks just have lots of opinions?

I've never been on any other forum on CD, but I'd have to say it's all about relationships. Many of us have been on this forum for a year or two. Some longer, I'm sure. We post daily, we share our lives and we've become close. When I mention our "family" here, I don't think that's an exxageration at all. That's also why we are very protective of our community here. We're happy to have new people join us, but don't come in with the intention of rocking the boat! You may be thrown "overboard"!

I have noticed this myself and have a theory. Mainers are very intelligent and social people ( Obviously ) and can become somewhat house bound due to the ENORMOUS amounts of snow. The forum may be the way to stay connected with others during the winter months. It's just a guess.

I've never been on another forum except C-D either, and I stumbled on this one completely by mistake. I think the community we've created on here is special, and I've been told that by others who frequent various forums here at C-D. Most of us have been here a while, so we've formed those relationships with each other that are in some ways similar to those one develops with a great neighbor. I think we're supportive and respectful, even though we don't always agree with each other. I think we're protective of the Maine forum as well, and it shows in our intolerance to trolls and those who arrive who are less than genuine. IMO, most of us on here also seem to have a kind of an intuition, for lack of a better word, and on various levels we rely on that concerning each other and new posters. So far, I haven't been wrong in trusting that, so I'll continue to do so!! I love being here with you guys....I love your support and your friendship. I love all the DMs and the laughter.....and Maineah, you even got me to be serious this week!! I've been here almost a year, and I'm not going anywhere--I'd miss you guys too much! AND we have a gathering to plan

Hey, I just checked.....I've been here a YEAR on the 27th! How cool is that?!

Happy anniversary mollysmiles! I'll try to keep the "serious moments" to a minimum!
