What a great way to celebrate Father's Day by spending time at one of our amazing state parks. Here's the Bureau of Parks & Lands link with the details: Event: Activities & Events: Discover History & Explore Nature: State Parks and Public Lands: Maine DACF

It's free admission for vehicles bearing a Maine license plate.

"The open admission does not apply to Acadia National Park, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Baxter State Park, Peacock Beach, Scarborough Beach State Park, Swan Island, the ME Wildlife Park, the Penobscot River Corridor, or the Penobscot Narrows Observatory in Prospect, though admission to Fort Knox State Historic Site will be free that day."

Yup that's an awesome senior benefit for sure.

Another great thing is that senior lifetime national park passes for those 62+ are only $10 (or $20 via online and mail). There's word that the price for those may increase sometime later this year, so the online and mail request pipeline is a bit clogged. They're recommending getting them in person at a park if possible: https://store.usgs.gov/pass.
