You might be a tad disappointed with Presque Isle actually. If you find Fresno boring, what do you plan on doing in a town that is 170+ miles from a city of 30,000. I mean if a city of close to 1/2 a million is boring, how are you going to find a town of less than 10,000 that is the largest in it's area? I am not trying to be funny or sarcastic, just realistic here. I would suggest a few visits first for sure. One during the middle of winter, try Jan, or Feb. Then one during June or July.

So-so actually for the scenery. The coast is much prettier and has much less severe winters than we get up here in the Presque Isle area. That may be a better option. The coast has some stunning scenery, not just a small area either, but from the southern tip all the way to the Canadian border.

I wouldn't say we are wilderness here, not overly populated, but far from what I would think as wilderness though. It is a short drive from here though .

Hey now, we resemble that remark. It has been worse than this winter though. Sure we have got a lot more snow than usual, but it has only been lower than -35 a couple of times this winter. (We will NOT discuss how many times it has been lower than -20 though. )

If I go West from Presque Isle, in just a couple of miles it is all forest, next city and out of the forest will be just outside of Quebec City, Canada. There is a bit of woods around you might say.

Cold, depends on what your idea of cold is. There has been MANY, MANY days where the temp in the morning has been -20 or lower this winter. Last week we had those temps here. Tonight is is going to be below 0 they say. If it hits the temps they are calling for this week, it will be the first week we are above freezing every day in a few months.
