We're covered in ice. Trees are stretching power lines down on Rt 1. Other threes are causing sparks off the power line. It won't be warm enough to melt it over the weekend. T had an ortho appointment in Lincoln early yesterday morning. I headed out but decided against the snow covered Rt 6 pot hole roller coaster ride and came back. After dropping her off at the high school I went to Calais. It looks like a different world there. There's no ice and little snow.
I keep reminding myself that others have it a lot worse with their record breaking snow up north.

I would rather have record breaking snow than 1/2 of ice. Snow you just push it. pile it up, or blow it away. Ice is a beast, it either has to melt naturally, or you have to beat your innards out de-icing everything. I was up here thinking that; thank you God we didn't get the ice y'all got downstate.

I took this yesterday a mile from the house. Some of the ice melted today but not enough to make much difference.

Is that the hill going down to Route 1? The old church would be just outside the picture on the left.
