I remember all of those and what about Family Affair? The two little kids Buffy and Jody and the big sister Sissy all living with their Uncle Bill and the butler... French, I think was his name?

It depends on what you want. I tried the big toys for big boys route, and I wish I had a nickel back for every dollar I spend on a big toy. The Waltons instills something in us that is really missing. A generational family. The Waltons had 3 generations living under one roof and functioning as a single family unit. Forget day care, there was always grandma and grandpaw. No matter what was going on, they were there, and solid as a rock. The second generation produced the kids, but spent most of their time providing for the children. The kids were free to be kids. Of course life was harsh back then, but the good things were so good they made the bad things seem minor. If you remember the first episode, the Homecoming, it was all about a family being united at Christmas. It wasn't about presents, it wasn't about things, it was simply about everyone being safe under one roof. I always thought that was the best episode ever. In fact, if my memory serves me right, it was a movie, that actually was spun off into the series. Correct me if I am wrong! They had modern conveniences for that time. They didn't have a lot of luxuries, but they made do with what they had, and were glad. We seem to have lost a lot of the gladness that a simple life can provide. I think that is what we miss. The happiness that just comes naturally when everything is right.
