NJ2ME has a spectacular aura aboutNJ2ME has a spectacular aura aboutNJ2ME has a spectacular aura aboutNJ2ME has a spectacular aura about
Default Etna, Dixmont, and Corinth

Sorry to ask more questions but I have been doing non stop research and then I come to a standstill once again! LOL And I figure who better to ask these questions to than you guys!

These areas.... I know Etna and Dixont share a K-8 and then go to Newport I think for Highschool? They are small towns.

Overall, what information could people give me on these 3 towns. Do you like them? Nice to live, schools, etc. I know the basic facts like distance to Bangor etc.

Also.... I have tried to look up pictures or anything but maybe being such small towns, I have no luck for Etna or Dixmont. Would it be possable to have a view of the mountains from any of these towns?

Any positive or negatives about these towns would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks to all for your wonderful advice and information!

I am sorry but the weather refused to cooperate today otherwise I might be able to help with your view of the mountains question. I was on Rt 7 this morning up as far as Dixmont because ha ha I'm from away and the person I went to see assumed I knew they were SOUTH of Brooks and not NORTH of Brooks. When I didn't find them I stopped at the Dixmont line and called to clarify.

The point of this little bit of rambling is that there was a good bit of fog today that prevents me from be able to tell you for sure.

For Sale or Rent is on a distinguished road
Try ourchamber.org and click on town profiles, townofdixmont.org, townofcorinth.com. There are nice views in the area. Etna and Dixmont are smaller than Corinth. Corinth has more activity and a comfortable feel of community. Central High in Corinth is the stronger school; Nokomis in Newport had trouble with accreditation awhile back. Happy Researching!

Newport is a large, rough school made of of towns that have been hit hard in the agricultural and manufacturing industries the last couple of decades.

Corinth still has a lot of farms, fields and livestock.

Dixmont has some good hills and I bet you can see Katahdin from high places on some of them.
