Last Thursday on A&E they had one of their crime documentary shows. Can't remember which one. Anyway, they were focusing on a big murder in Bangor where a prominent doctor in the community was killed in his home.

The case was fascinating enough (doctor's wife was charged and acquitted), but the documentary itself showed LOTS of great pictures of Bangor itself, talked to lots of locals, etc.

Remember, Steven King lives in Bangor. Another reason the town and schools are nice. He has given millions to the town

it does snow- but I do not think there will be a white Christmas anywhere in New England this year-except the top of Mt. Washington, and along the Canadian border.....

Wow, my old thread got unearthed.

My plans played out, and I'm here - about 10 minutes out of the beautiful city of Bangor.

This place is amazing. Aside from the beauty, which is a given, the people are wonderful, the school is top-notch, and I can actually afford to live here.

Thanks for your good wishes.

Heck, those scabs steal as much money off Mainers as possible.
Maine is #1 in the nation in overall taxation.

Outside of the Augusta's crime wave Maine is a wonderful place.

Compared to most places where I have lived previously, Bangor is a very quite peaceful city.

I would love to see another post from MsJL to see how things are going for her now, after living here for a while. I know it is a big decision to move from New Jersey to Maine. I hope they still like it after wintering here.
