Default More Motorcycles in Maine

They're everywhere! People are dusting off the bikes and getting them back on the road again. There have been reports of a few accidents due to sand covered intersections and folks sliding sideways in the dirt. That happens. People in Maine get a bit rusty from not riding their bikes all winter and forget that sand on asphalt is pretty slippery.
With gas closing in on $4.00 a gallon there are going to be a lot more motorcycles on the road than ever before.
My DW told me that several people she works with have decided to buy motorcycles to get back and forth to work on. Why not! Most bikes will exceed 40-50 miles to the gallon! That's pretty good mileage! They may be a bit uncomfortable on cold and rainy days but if you buy the right clothing these things can be worked around.
DW and I bought a 2007 Triumph Bonneville and we just love it! At this point we're fair weather riders. We like to tool around the coastal roads and try out new restaurants. It's lots of fun! DW says she's content to ride on the back for now though I'd be willing to bet that will change. We're planning to visit the Riverdriver Festival in Lincoln this summer on the bike. Maybe we'll run into Northern Maine Land Man there.

See you on the road!

I get just about 50mpg with straight gas in my Yamaha Virago 1100...but only about 38mpg with the 10% ethanol mix, even worse with the 15% ethanol.
