Long Week!
Well folks, this has been a long, busy week for my household. From Sunday afternoon until yesterday at 1 PM we have put just under 5000 miles on the Suburban, halfway crossed the country twice, looked at many homes, put in an offer on one, and it looks like we bought our new home. The contract was waiting for us when we pulled into Washburn yesterday. While it will be a sad day when we leave the area, it is also a good thing for us as a family and for my wife and I as a couple. Problem now is that the house is a lot larger than the one we are in now and it is going to be a bit bare for a while.
Looks like the sun has been working well in out absence and the snow is almost totally gone up here now. The rivers are very high it looks like, but nothing too bad. (thought about you when we passed through Argyle Forest and saw how high the rivers were. Hoped you were still high and dry.) Today is going to be a well needed rest day for both myself and the Ruffians. Funny how many areas we passed through yesterday and the first thing that popped into my head was who on this forum lived in that area.

I think I would wonder that as well while I traveled.
If you have time, DM me on where your buying your home. I recall moving into a bigger home and it was empty for a while. Wow.. easy to clean thou.
Now ... rest rest.. rest for today.

We are pretty excited as well. The house is in a great location (didn't go with a country house) that is in a very nice neighborhood. The furthest school is 3 blocks away with the property sharing a border with school land. I can see all the schools from either the front yard or the back. Problem is going to be filling the "Family room" with furniture because it is 18X28. The house has 2 fireplaces and the kitchen was totally done last summer with all new cabinets and counters with all new Stainless appliances. Couldn't believe we found it for the price we did (we set a cap at 100K and didn't even come close to that figure.) I was looking at more than likely finding a fixer-upper for our price range but the drop in prices is going to work well for us this time around it looks like.

We are buying right in Scottville, Michigan. Nice little town, that still has the right "feel" to it.

I'm so very happy for you and your family. You're going home, that's a wonderful thing. While I know you will be deeply missed by all of us here, you did promise to keep posting here. We will hold you to that!

I will still jerk wire for a living (Electrician) and the wife will still patch up broken people (Emergency Room RN). No matter where we go, people still like to turn on a light, plug in something, or send Data to each other. Plus they are always going to hurt themselves and get sick. We can/could go anyplace and work as much as we want. One of the blessings we have together.
On a different note though, I plan on catching a LOT of fish this summer, and enjoying the outdoors as much there as I do here.
