Maine will stand firm until the Feds threaten to pull some funding...then they will cave in like they usually do.

A number of states are still standing firm. Hopefully Maine will follow suit.

Civil disobedience, anyone? What I really wish for, is that one of the New England states would decide to issue 'driving permits' along with their Real ID licenses. Then, you could be on the road legally, without having a national ID card.

I do have a passport, and the info on that goes into an entirely different database than the Real ID info would go. Only about 10% of Americans have a passport, which does all that the Real ID would do, and more.

If all the states go along with Real ID, and no states decide to issue driver permits, then I will be on the road unlicensed. Last I knew, the penalty for driving without a license was a slap on the wrist - providing that your license had not been suspended or revoked. I'll take the slap on the wrist!

Real ID goes along with central planning and enhanced 911. They want to know where you are, what you are doing and what you buy. I love cash and yard sales. That .357 Magnum? Oh, I sold that at a yard sale years ago. Who bought it? Some fat guy with a Massachusetts accent. Come to think of it, he bought an axe too. I think he lives in Bangor. They have a fat guy with a Massachusetts accent now. ;-)

You see, it's an agenda. In fact the agenda has a number. It's Agenda 21. Google that and read all about it. You won't even sleep tonight.

my dad useto tell storys about the old days .he'd say prity soon we will all need a licence for every thing.there is limited freedom in this country.
what suprises me is the people just lay down and take it.
the real id act is just one more freedom they will take.
i dont no what bothers me more ,that there's an agenda or it has a number.
