Hey all, I got some free time. We rented a cottage on Swan Lake near Belfast.
We have planned trips to Acadia, Blue Hill, down to Stonington, Deer Isle.

Restaurant recommendations for lunch and dinners.(lobster bake)? Or a must try breakfast place?
Any farms or farm stands to check out?
I’m also curious about Bangor? What to see there in a full afternoon evening? Art, shopping, food, farmer market.
We love seafood, as well as all kinds.
Thanks for any insight. It’s been 19 years since our last visit.

In the Acadia area - for scenic spots to eat, I like either Beal's Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor or Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard, as well as Jordan Pond House in Seal Harbor. If you are going to go through Southwest Harbor in the morning, call ahead and reserve an exceptional wild blueberry pie at Island Bound Treats bakery - they usually sell out early.

You can also get clams, oysters, and mussels at the above lobster pounds; the food is mostly done rather simply but also done well - the quality is good and you can contemplate beautiful coast of Maine views while you eat your meal.

Jordan Pond House is less focused on seafood, but the food is very good there; the food is prepared a little more creatively, a little more fancy, but the prices are actually no higher. If the weather is decent, it's great to eat out back on the lawn and contemplate crystal clear Jordan Pond, flanked by some of Acadia's granite mountains while you eat your meal.

I think all of the above have menus online.

We are at the cabin now. Stunning! Old 1920’s cabin. Tiny sink and stove. Peaceful…. Perfect for such a time as this.

Nice! If you're on the lake, leave your windows open and listen for loons calling on the lake, especially at night and at dawn...

If you happen to be in the Warren area, check out Beth's farm stand. We could barely find a parking spot yesterday (Sunday). They have everytying that Maine farmers (including Beth herself) can grow from corn to beets to stawberries to radishes and about five different species of apples. They also sell lobsers at $10.50/lb for any size as well as oyters from the local suppliers. It's a one-stop shopping for anything green. We ALWays come home with something we haven't tried before. This trip it was Red Chard. We just love going there. Its an open air market, not a closed in store. Oh....they also have a lot of repaired foods like canned items, jams, breads, etc. You'll be very glad you stopped by.

On the way home make a point of stopping in Liberty and visiting the world's most crowded hardware store. You'll be fascinated. From there you can grab Rt 3 home back to Belfast area, about 18 minute run.

Have fun! hope the weather cooperates with you. It's been a really wet summer. Crowds, however, has diminished so you shouldn't be fighting hordes to do things. Oh....one more thing. For really resonable dinner out, check out "Anglers Restaurant in Searsport. Do a google search. It won't be far from you. The prices there will surprise you as to how reasonable they can be. Also, check out Searsport Island if you want to just enjoy some peace and quiet and beachcomb or hike in some island woods. IT's attached to Rt. 1 via a causeway. It's free. park and walk to the beach 50' away. Bring a picknic lunch.
