Here it is ....Memorial Day Weekend already! The "official" start to the Summer season around here. This is the weekend seasonal businesses traditionally strive to be opened by. The National Weather Service had predicted a beauty of a weekend with a few clouds and highs in the 70's.
Since I never believe them I'll keep an umbrella handy ....just in case. We are going to have some relatives visiting from Las Vegas for the weekend. We'll have dinner somewhere nice and plan a cookout for Monday.
What are you doing this Memorial Day Weekend??

Driving a truck to Eastport and moving furniture. What could be more fun than that?

Maybe a poke in the eye with a sharp stick might be better.

We've had rain off and on for the last couple of weeks. Kinda messed up our outside work schedule. Looks like we'll be working this weekend and Monday too.
At least we're working on a roof right on main street and the Memorial Day parade here in Warner, NH goes right by the site.
I'll take a short break to go up to the town hall for the Memorial program and give thanks to my fellow veterans.
We're hoping that next year we'll be observing Memorial Day in Maine.

Many thanks and God bless to all you vets and families of vets that have sacrificed so much for all of us!

I will likely be putting my tomatoes and peppers in the ground, visiting a bit with friends (around their family visits) and painting some new orders of Pennsylvania Dutch Hex signs that I just got orders for.

And ducking the black flies, I guess, which I have finally noticed here in Milo...

And getting VERY set off routine on account of the holiday being (a) movable and (b) so early. You see, I grew up with it being on the 30th and that being my dad's birthday, as well. He was a Navy vet, a SeaBee from WW2, so I will lift a beer in his honor, even though the day is wrong. <g>

I will be working, but will remember those who have died for our freedom and those serving now.

We always go to the ceremony they have at the town green for the Veterans. It's usually a tear jerker that's for sure.
As Americans we have a lot to be thankful for and a lot of people to thank for our blessings. Thank you to all our Veterans....living or alive in our memories!
