I'm thinking corn chowdah and some big old river driver biscuits might go good on a rainy ,cool evening.

Oven fried chicken, taters and broccoli with whole-berry cranberry sauce. DH is on a limited diet and the options are dwindling. Fresh produce will soon be more readily available locally though so I'm very happy.

Speaking of corn chowder and fresh produce, my uncle own's a vegetable farm with vegetable stand in Norridgewock on the way to Madison and when I used to vist there when I was younger and his dad, my grandfather, owned the farm, we would be in the middle of a meal and my grandmother would say, "We're almost out of corn" and my grandfather would get in his pick-up and go pick some "fresh" corn for the rest of supper. You see, fresh to him is not more than an hour or so picked. And the next day we would be having corn chowder. I don't remember eating any red or green veggies there. Probably because his corn was so good.
They've been planting vegetables with about 20+ acres on the shores of the Kennebec for several generations. A nephew now lives in the old family house there.

Also, I may have mentioned earlier, my uncle has a collection of arrowheads that he has found on his property over the years. He will donate them all to a museam someday. There are stories in our family where we "relocated" a few indians on that land back in the late 1800's.

I had a best friend who moved from Yarmouth to Norridgewock. When I went to visit him he had made friends with a kid down the road who had the exact same first and last name as me....spooky huh??

I had manicotti tonight with fresh french bread and a salad. A glass of lemon water and a glass of Pinot Noir. Perfect.

That sounds delicious...I love manicotti, lasagne, jumbo shells, baked ziti, eggplant rolitini, and all kinds of Italian dishes. We have some kind of Italian food at least once a week. My personal favorite recipe is Linguine in white clam sauce....It is SOOO good. I have never had it at a restaurant any better than the recipe I make at home!
