Seriously? moving to NB? hmmmm....
Well in Saint John and Moncton there are some large corporate expansions happening....along with a new terminal being built in Saint John....also there are rumors of a casino being built....you know, the one that's being built because the people of Maine lacked the foresight to support the poorest county in the state? they are planning on cashing in on the 6 million passenger cars that cross the border every year--smart, I think. Anyway.....to me it appears that their economy is stronger than ours. I can look into that
What is your background? What type of job would you be looking for? Do you need an area where rents are available or will you buy? Are you planning on going for a short time to see how it will work out or are you going lock, stock, and barrel so to speak?

Casinos aren't all they are cracked up to be. We live within an easy drive from the 2 large Indian casinos across the border in Connecticut. They are not in RI but RI refused to allow the Narragansetts to open a casino here. The 2 in CT are currently suffering the same economic slowdown as other businesses in the area. Even when they were going gung-ho, they never paid the employees all that well (hence the union troubles at Foxwoods). They bring in lots of outsiders for employees (well...it is a skill you find in NJ and NV, not around here), and there have been problems with drunken driving, high traffic, lack of suitable housing for employees, and general dissatisfaction among the residents of that portion of CT.
Not something you'd want in Maine - believe me!

If you are a U. S. Citizen you can't work over there. They have a real border and they enforce their immigration laws. We should send a delegation from Washington to learn how they do it.

They already know how to do it. They don't want to do it.

We've been through that whole "hick" thing...
Mainers are not a bunch of hicks. It's just that the quality of life surrounding a casino area takes a turn for the worse pretty quickly.
That's what I wouldn't want to see happen in Maine!
