You know you live in Maine when it seems like you can reach right up and touch the clouds and the sky. When the air is so clean that you want to just stand outside and take deep breaths.

You know you're in Maine when people are inspired to write something like the above.

They're not all whackos...I'm in Houston right now, and I sure don't want to ever see Maine looking like this.

True Story. we were standing out front of the house a week or so ago when the UPS truck pulls in. I'm thinking I don't remember ordering anything, must be something Laura bought. Driver jumps out makes a comment about getting the boat out, which turned into a discussion about the new one he bought last year and that led to fishing. Closely followed by an argument of how good/bad the bird hunting was last Fall (one of the neighbors down the road out shot him on a trip last year). After a bit he mentioned he has to get going because it is getting late, so up he hops and drives off. Me and the 3 neighbors who were there figured he just stopped to talk at the end of his run, when back he drives, gets out looking goofy and mentioned he was looking for a road and forgot to ask. None of us had heard of it either so we started guessing what road they might mean. Honestly it was, "Could it be the one Stumpy lives on, that is way out?" "Could it be the one where Arsehole shot the Moose last year without me?" "Bet it is the one Alan lost his tire on the frost heave this year."

Never did figure it out, even pulled out the laptop and looked it up online with no luck.
For me... the UPS truck stopped me just as I was driving down my street and waved at me. I stopped and they said, We have a package for you.
Hummm .... they knew me enough to stop me on the road to give me my package. ~ you live in Maine.

When the trees light up with twinkle lights at night because the sky is so clear you can see the starts below the tree tops.

We were sitting out front last night enjoying the rain from the porch and everyone who drove by (all 6 or 7 cars ) waved. For a few we did ask "who was that?" lol.....it's funny how you just expect that you'll know roughly who everyone is!
