You know you live in Maine when you're headed southbound on 295 on a Friday afternoon and see caravans of pickup trucks towing snowmobile trailers headed north for the weekend.

Starwalker - glad you got to see your first moose. It's rare that a season goes by that I "don't" see one. The most likely places for me have been Greenville, Rangelely and Jackman. I saw my first "dead" one on the side of interstate this past weekend., I think it was just south of Augusta on the southbound lane. Just looked like it had been clipped and was taking a nap. No blood or anything. I sure hope the highway dept. picked it up before someone might hit it after dark.

.........the front page of the major newspaper for the area has a story about one way "To Catch A Theif"
VIENNA, Maine (AP) — Metal thieves got away with a haul of steel, iron and aluminum from a machine shop in Maine. But owner Joseph Lord made sure it didn’t happen again.

"When Lord saw their pickup truck, he shot out its tires and windshield and blasted its radiator."
If that happened in CA., Lord would be handcuffed, booked and criminalized for the rights of the poor robbers. Glad to see some common sense and back to the basics old time shotgun justice.
"Two good suspects"....hehehe
