Augusta Rotaries
I've heard that Cony Circle and Memorial Circle are the most accident-prone intersections in the state. Yet I've never seen an accident in either one of them. Anyone here ever been in or witnessed a rotary accident?

Not once have I ever witnessed any accident at either of them. Those two are the easy ones, I've seen a few close calls at the Portsmouth Circle though.
However after living down here for 2 years with those who are proud to be called "the most rude drivers anywhere", I've been hardened. These people can't even be compared to NYC cab drivers. Jeesh!

I drive through both rotaries twice a day. Although I've never seen or experienced an accident there, it seems like there is a close call every day. Dang rotaries

Lots of close calls but no actual accident.

Maybe in Augusta, but most certainly not in the state. The intersection of routes 4 and 117 here in Turner used to be the worse in the state.

NJ was the worst for circles years ago but before I left there they were phasing them out in many places. You should see some of the wacky intersections taht used to be circles. Then I moved to MD and they were adding them in in the strangest spots (at least I thought). I never saw an accident in any rotary but they are annoying either way.

I've been on both of those rotaries more times than I can even think of counting and never had a problem myself; I do remember seeing one on the Cony Circle which I always thought was the more dangerous of the two.

The worst one....
The worst one I ever saw was when a car from away drove on the wrong side of the Western Ave. rotary to the other side of State St. Everyone was trying to get out of the way. Luckly no one was hurt. A friend of mine once said that she approached the rotaries by closing her eyes and stepping on the gas. Cony St. is the worst I think. It does take some skill to successfully use them.
