Belgrade is very nice, and I don't think you'll find too many kids that bother you. Unless you go clubbing...then yeah, lots of college kids.

So is that college town hopping with wild college kids? Because I don't care for that either. I want a place as quiet as possible.
Well, here I go again on my Colby soap box. Yes, Waterville is a "college town", however, the students at Colby are not the typical run of the mill, wild, partying bunch. My experience on "several" visits to Colby looking for a job is that the kids that attend are very well behaved and have good upbringings.

They must have changed since my boss went to Colby. If it wasn't for his grandfather, he wouldn't have made it through.

I knew a young lady that went to Colby on full scholorship. She was mature, responsible, and eager to learn. She did a year as an exchange student in Peru, and another in Brazil. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. She went on to do very well I understand. She now works in D.C. but, I don't know for whom she works. She was a Maine girl from a hardworking, though somewhat disadvantaged family. I don't know much about the students as a whole at Colby, but, if she was any indication of the caliber of young people there,... they'ld have to be terrific.

OMGosh no! Waterville has a population of around 15K and is definitely not in any way a city. Colby students do, of course, have their parties but they are mostly contained to "the hill" and the campus security and local police do a decent job of keeping everything contained. Doesn't mean things don't occasionally spill over but it's nothing like you would find in a city the size of Philly.

Overall, Waterville is a fairly quiet place. Belgrade would be quiet for most of the year, but in the dead of summer it is very busy and crowded with summer people. If you choose one of the smaller lakes in the chain, it will be quieter than anything on Snow Pond.
