My brother called me out here from Dover last night while I was watching the game. He only calls me on my birthday once a year.  I do the same with his.  I paused it for the 40 minutes that we talked. The Celtics were down 21 points at that time and I thought that it would just be another routine Lakers win at home. He was not pausing the game at his house and was occassionally walking into his living room and roaring at me, "You've got to watch this game."  I kept telling him not to go in there anymore. I want to see it for myself. We finally stopped talking and I went back to the game. Wow! That was sure something. Good for them. Thanks for the cool birthday gift Boston. |

My age is nothing but a year older than 56 and a year younger than 58. Nothing special. And I got plenty of b-day wishes on a site I've been on for 6 years. Now yours is something. Turning 50 on Monday is really cool. You've earned it. The 50's have been a lot of fun for me. I'm sure they will be for you too.

i remember listening to johnny most on the radio,,,he use to go wild about larry birrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd!! (i believe he was a sports announcer from boston)
i got into watching the nba when larry bird,,,kevin mchale,,danny ainge, dj, and ,,robert parish...great team!!!

Danny Ainge had a playing stint in Sacramento too. He was popular here because of his toughness. I don't think there has ever been such a good front court since McHale, Bird and Parrish. They were special. |

Johnny Most was a legend, "fiddlin and diddlin, daddling and doodlin'" We always ran the radio instead of the TV sound when watching the games. It was fun to see how much fouls were embellished by Most compared to what they really looked like on TV. A push was a punch and a reach in foul was a whack or a hack and if a Celtics player ever hit the floor he was hammered! |

The more I see of this year's Celtics, the more they seem like a throwback to the era of Larry and the gang. Pretty classy bunch they've assembled for the current team. And, unlike what the NBA has become much of the time, the current group shows some real team play. People keep talking about their defense, and it's true that they do seem to be everywhere in D, but I've also noticed a lot of great passing by this team.
Keeping my fingers crossed that they win tonight. My biggest concern about how the Lakers could pull off a comeback is that the C's are having injury problems. If this goes seven games, they could lose this thing just by finally running out of gas.

Hope they do it tonight. I can't watch because there are throwable objects in the room and I paid $1800.00 for the flat screen TV
