Default How 'bout those Celtics!

I'll admit I have not been as big a Celtics fan as I was back in the eighties, but it's nice to see them in the finals against the Lakers again ...it's even nicer to see them win the first game!

Good to see the Celtics rise up again.
I am dating myself here.....but who could forgot the amazing sportsmanship of Larry Bird and Kareem Abdul Jabbar?? They were such gentlemen and true athletes. Nice to see their teams back in the spotlight

You're not dating yourself with me anyway. That's when they were at their best! We used to go to a playoff game every season at Boston Garden. Drank beers at Sullivan's Tap right across the street. I saw Bird, McHale,Parrish, Ainge, DJ, and all the rest of them. My licence plate said B Celts on it back then! We loved them! I got married and raised a family since they were "good" so it's been a while since I have called myself a true fan.
I think the last game I went to in the Garden was 1989 or '90

All I got to say is that I am glad that KG is not with the Timberwolves anymore. He has been one of the best players for many years and he deserves a championship game.

I still haven't got into them like I was in the 80's. Of course, Basketball had kind of taken a downturn overall. Maybe this will all help the sport out. It's definitely got me watching again, and reminiscing of the days with Bird, Parish, and McHale

Never could get into the Celtics, much prefered the Sixers and the Bulls. My brother is the same way. My dad, on the other hand was a true basketball fan...he would watch any and all teams. We got our love of the game from him, as he played in school, as did my brother and I.

I'm a diehard Sacramento Kings fan but have really enjoyed watching the success of the Celtics this year. And anyone that beats the Lakers is OK in my book.

My brother called me out here from Dover last night while I was watching the game. He only calls me on my birthday once a year. I do the same with his. I paused it for the 40 minutes that we talked. The Celtics were down 21 points at that time and I thought that it would just be another routine Lakers win at home. He was not pausing the game at his house and was occassionally walking into his living room and roaring at me, "You've got to watch this game." I kept telling him not to go in there anymore. I want to see it for myself. We finally stopped talking and I went back to the game. Wow! That was sure something. Good for them. Thanks for the cool birthday gift Boston.

I feel this way about Ray Allen as well. He's been an amazing player and really a class act his entire career and it's nice to see him getting his chance. i'm anti-LA and anti-Kobe, soooooo GO CELTS!
