Yes! There are a few religious grandfathered billboards in Maine. Though they are very few and quite far between.

The wildlife is bigger in Maine. I consider it proof positive that the climate is healthier all around for all living things. Just my point of view.

No it's true! On route 196 coming into Lewiston from Topsham there is a full sized religious billboard that always says Jesus Saves! or something like that. It's across the street from the Elks lodge! It' been there for 30 or more years...Flycessna back me up here!
There are also two more full sized billboards in South Portland on route one
used by a church, There is some exemption for religious billboards in the law!

Ironic.......when i lived in Va Dc area I too really missed the cool clear water of the lakes......And the cool crisp air that you get towards the end of summer.
