Howland Maine area
I've already looked up all the basics. Schools, main stuff about area. Its slightly further north then we orginally were going to look but certain things about the area seem really perfect for us. I am still trying to get down to the smaller information though that you just have to be there to see, find out etc. I'm not even sure as of yet, if its actually considered Howland but it has the same zipcode... but by map, its if anything on the outskirt edge of the "town".
Could anyone give me as much information on this area as they can?
Thanks!
Jaime

Howland is a nice, little town, though economically distressed it's an easy commute to Bangor. A quick drive into Lincoln for shopping yet you still have decent inexpensive properties on the outskirts. I really don't know what you want for info on the area. I suggest you make a trip up and explore the area before you move there.

We are coming up to look at properties the end of this month. We plan on buying land now and building in about 2 years or so. Thats why I want information on the area to decide if from first hand experience from people that know the area.... I like the sound of the area as much as I do "over the web" looking myself. Its very hard to shop for land from afar as I am sure many will agree with! Then of course the final step is to actually come up and see them. But I have ruled out many places, just from information I have gotton where it just won't work for what we want. I love hearing opinions and I weigh them to what our priorities are.
And just anything, opinions on schools, area, traffic, beautiful views as driving up rt 116, whatever people want to give if something has ever stood out to them.

In this area of Maine traffic is not applicable, unless you get behind a tractor or snowplow. The views are awesome all along the Penobscot. There are a lot of distressed appearing homes in Howland, I normally travel Rt 2 up from Milford with a friend when I do travel over that way or right up 95. I'm west of there in Milo. IMHO Howland is better situated as you do have 95 available. Roads are well kept up with in the winter. I don't know about the schools though.

Thanks!
I got more information on address... and its called Edinburg Maine... but I am guessing shares the zip code with Howland (why I said Howland, because I had zipcode). City data doesn't have Edinburg as a town...but google says its a very low populated town in Maine so I did find it somewhere!

Edinburg has a population of 98, 3 people per sq mile. Country, yet 1/2 an hour to Bangor. IMHO Great area.

Edinburg Maine is a thriving metropolis!
No stop signs, no stores, low taxes, no PD, no FD, no intersections, ...
Just a nice lazy curving road that follows the river.
It is almost is nice as Argyle

Nope. Edinburg in general has a higher river bank than much of Argyle. Nice little town.
