Maine Fairs and Festivals 2008
Hopefully we'll all be able to find enough spare change in the washer to afford a little fun this summer. Found this pretty good list today:
Off and running | Portland Press Herald
This is my busiest time of year for work so I'm barely coming up for air these days, but I'm going to make some time for fairs, you betcha!!!

The list doesn't have two from this direction.
County Gospel Music Festival
Annual Maine Gospel Music Fest in Fort Fairfield
July 12th 2008
THE COUNTY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL
also in Fort Fairfield, ME
July 25th through 27th, 2008
http://countybluegrass.com/
They are both a very good time if you enjoy this type of music. I will be sorry to miss these this year. I have help set up the grounds the last couple of years and really enjoyed meeting the people who travel following the different acts.

MOFGA celebrates its 32nd Common Ground Country Fair on September 19, 20 & 21, 2008, in Unity, Maine.
The Fair allows fairgoers to make connections with a rapidly expanding base of organic farms in the state of Maine. Hundreds of vendors, exhibitors and demonstrators, more than 1,000 volunteers, and roughly 50,000 fairgoers will gather to: share knowledge about sustainable living; eat delicious, organic, Maine-grown food; buy and sell beautiful Maine crafts and useful agricultural products; compete in various activities; dance; sing and have a great time.

The Grand Lake Stream Folk Art Festival is nice. There are a lot of talented artisans, several examples of our local cultures, great food and entertainment. It's July 26-27 this year.

I've had so much fun up there for the Fly-In. If you get a chance to experience it from a boat, it's a blast! Greenville is jumping alive with so much fun stuff going on during the Fly-In. Good times.

The Seaplane Fly In is, by far, the largest crowd drawer up here. Our airport parks several hundred planes and many more than that may show up. The competitions go on all three days and there are lots of antique and unusual aircraft for public inspection.
The 4th of July is the second largest draw with a huge art and craft fair on the Junction Wharf.
