Saints! Good Lawd No! I was married at sixteen (not uncommon in our family). I think it was my parents way to avoid having so many teen girls to deal with. All kidding aside though, we made our mistakes and paid for them. We lived through stuff and tried to protect our kids from making bad choices. In some cases, we succeeded.

I was a real straight arrow as a kid, and I had three younger brothers. I cooked supper every night, cleaned house, and did laundry (back in the days BEFORE dryers)for my mom. I made straight As throughout school with the occasional B. I only went to formal Rainbow-Demolay dances once or twice a year, and never stayed out late. I helped my daddy do painting and paneling projects around the house, and I reloaded shotgun shells when hunting season came around. I outfished my daddy and my brothers, made them clean the fish, then I cooked dinner with them. I watched soap operas in the afternoons, including the very famous "Dark Shadows." I was really a pretty good kid. My parents were pretty strict, but I sure learned a lot that has helped me throughout my life.

My parent's were strict in a sense to my friends parents. I was home at the time requested, I didn't do any moral terpatude ( hope I spelled that right) I respected my neighbors.
For me, where I was, and my mom being a dispatcher at a small town police department for 9 years of my life, I didn't want to end up in front of her or the officers I was use to being around.
I did dishes, laundry, supper, yard work ( I hand mowed 7 aches by myself every 2 weeks.~ and when I graduated highschool and left home guess who purchased two riding lawn mowers. I would probably mutter that on my death bed how mad that made me lol), so I had to do it or I couldn't do anything.
So in a sense... with my surroundings, I thought life was a bit strict....compared to the life my fellow friends had, but it was all I knew, and I turned out okay.
I got only a few skeletons... that aren't worth mentioning, but .... I hope that my girls continue to grow up the way I did and I won't have to much to worry about.
*But, I'm never nieve to teenagers.
