Default Your world can be turned upside down in an instant

My 88 year old father woke up this morning with a lot of pain on his side. I took him to Calais Hospital where he is undergoing tests as I type. I had to come back to Eastport to get his medications and I will be back at the hospital about 4 PM. He has no appendix or gall baldder, the ER doctor thinks that she feels a hard place somewhere around his kidneys or liver so she's ordered a CAT scan and that takes a few hours. The doctor has ordered his hospital records from WV from last year when he had his gall bladder out and almost died then and she said that depending on what they find, they may send him to Bangor - I asked her if there was a way to manage his pain long enough for me to get him back to WV and she said 'doubtful' - so I don't know what's wrong, don't know what's going on and I'm scared to death.

Corgis,
It's tough when a loved one becomes suddenly ill. I know your panicked feeling. Waiting for answers is the worst part because you do not which direction to focus your energies.
We'll say a prayer for your father and you. Hopefully it won't be anything too serious.

+1 what Mainah said. You and your dad are in my thoughts. And I'm a positive thinker.

Hang in there Corgi, I will say a prayer for your dad. I do not know much about the hospital where he is.....don't be afraid to push for answers, and go with your instincts.

I wish I could say or do something to ease your fears.

Know that you're both in my thoughts.

More prayers coming from here! We know what it is like to be in that situation. Nothing anyone here can say will lessen your pain. We just hope that this is a minor problem that can easily be remedied. Hang in there...it may not be bad at all.

We visited Jamie and her father about an hour ago. They were safe and sound in Eastport. Dad wasn't complaining of pain. They will watch him for 24 hours to see if his pain returns. They are both tired of being at the hospital all day. Keep up the prayers for the next 24 hours!
